Writing Prompt Flash Fiction.
I write a story almost every day, usually 20 minutes (that’s about 1,000 words if things are going well) to warm up my writing muscles. Most often I’ll pick a list of random words to use in the story or choose an interesting picture and pair it with an random word as the title. I usually state what the prompts were somewhere in the blog post.
On Thursdays I look back over the week’s writing exercises and pick whichever one I think will make the best story. Because Thursday is blog day. But first I need to edit.
I am only allowed three editing tools: I am allowed to correct typing errors; I am allowed to correct or change punctuation; I am allowed to delete anything and as much as I want. That’s it. Nothing else is added, nothing else gets changed.
